Athena was the Olympian goddess of war and wisdom, hence her association with owls.

The colour of the barn owl’s feathers are reminiscent of the materials used in Greek sculpture - limestone, marble and chryselephantine. She also features a meander key design with metallic gold paint which shimmers in the light, giving the artwork an extra dimension and ethereal beauty.

Painted in acrylic on 10 x 10” mount board. Comes in a cello envelope for protection.
