Repose - Framed Original Hare Painting

Repose is my take on life and death. It sounds like such a serious subject, but for nature, it is simple and everything plays it’s part in the cycle of life.

The dandelion is synonymous with time, so she features the rich yellow petals and around her are leaves and seed from a dandelion clock. On one side of the canvas, she basks in the warm light, tenderly holding her leg and bowing her head as if accepting her fate. On the other side, in the dark, stands a dead tree, whose decaying wood will eventually return to the earth to enable more life.

Painted in acrylic and charcoal. Sealed with satin varnish.
