Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What products do you use and are they environmentally friendly?

A. I try to use environmentally friendly products where possible and it is my aim to be fully plastic free in the future. To find out more about my products and their sustainability, see my blog post which covers all my products.

I also use acrylic paint responsibly on my original canvases and filter waste water to ensure no polluted water enters the water courses .

Q. Are the products you use archival?

All my prints are giclee and are produced in the UK using archival quality, Fine Art Trade Guild approved printers, inks and papers — tests have shown these prints can last over 100 years.

My paints are professional grade with good lightfastness, ensuring they will last a long time if displayed out of direct sunlight and away from direct heat.

For commissions I use professional grade stretched canvases from Windsor & Newton.

Q. Do you help customers with framing?

A. I avoid posting art which is framed behind glass, due to the possibility of damage, but should you wish to collect direct from me, I can certainly help with frame selection and get the framing done on your behalf. I use a very good framer locally and have done for years. I do hold a small selection of tray frames (which avoid the use of glass) and so it is worth enquiring to see what I have available or can acquire.

Q. I’d love to be kept up to date, how do I sign up to your newsletter?

A. You can add your name & email address to the sign up form at the bottom of this page. You can expect to hear from me every few months. You also get added in to my quarterly print giveaway.

Check out my Instagram and facebook pages to see what I’m up to at the minute.

Q. Do you offer Instalment plans?

A. Yes, I can do. I offer a 3 month Interest free installment plan with Paypal Pay in 3. To find out more, visit here.

Q. I’d like to commission a picture, can you tell me more?

A. Getting a picture commissioned is a lovely way to owning a piece of original art that means something special to you or the recipient. The smallest size I work on is 8x8”, going up to 16x20”. Prices start at £135.

To be able to create a beautiful painting for you, I do need several photos taken in good light of the animal, and it’s preferable that they are at eye level and close up enough to see the details. I can use some “artistic license” to add or remove details, but without knowing your pet, in some circumstances it can be hard to do so.

I require a 50% non refundable deposit prior to starting work. This covers my material costs should you not wish to proceed with the final painting. The remainder is due upon completion and acceptance of the finished product.

Taking reference photos, framing, postage and hand delivery can be arranged at extra cost. (Distance dependent where applicable). For more info, see the Pet Portraits page

Q. Please tell me more about Shipping?

A. Please see the page regarding shipping here.

Q. Where’s my order?

A. Please contact me in the first instance if you have not received your item & I will endeavour to help.

Royal Mail does not consider items lost until 10 working days after due date for 1st & 2nd class and 5 working days after due date for Special Delivery.

Q. Do you do Gift Cards?

A. Yes, Gift cards available in the Originals/Prints/Cards and Homeware tabs above. They can be used in person, for commissions and towards anything for sale on the website and last for 2 years. You can use more than one at the checkout and any remain funds can be used at a later date, as long as it is before the card's expiry.
